I just had a session with a client this morning and he told me a fun story. He said a friend of his made him some really good Kimchee once. It was flavorful and tasted great and he could eat it all day. But there was something missing and he couldn’t put his finger on it. Until he realized there was an ingredient missing. Ginger. And no matter how good it tasted, Kimchee wasn’t real Kimchee to him without the ginger.
He told me this story because we were talking about relationships. Sometimes we meet someone and it “tastes” really good. It’s “flavorful”. We enjoy it. We can eat it all day. But there’s something missing. And we can’t quite explain it. This causes us to fight with ourselves, wondering what the conflict is when everything seems good.
But there’s an ingredient missing.
It may be small but it can make all the difference.
